Internal medicine & Respirology

Trained as Internal Medicine specialist before gaining additional Fellowships in Respirology and Critical Care Medicine. Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada.  Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians.

Practicing in Nanaimo since 2005, Dr. Ronald has a busy Respirology private practice. He provides consultative services at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH) and performs Respirology procedures there including bronchoscopy, chest drainage, pleurodesis. He is the medical director of the pulmonary function laboratory and provides medical oversight there.

He also works in the Intensive Care Unit at NRGH. This takes the form of 2 week blocks. He also works occasionally in the Intensive Care Units in Victoria on a locum basis.

In 2006 and years following, Dr. Ronald traveled as one of a rotating team of physicians to work at the Army Hospital in Kandahar, Afghanistan. He received decorations for service provided to military and civilian casualties.
